• The Fire Safety Act 2021 clarified that the structure and external walls of buildings, as well as fire doors (including flat entrance doors), fall under fire risk assessments.

• The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 introduced new legal requirements for regular fire door checks in multi-occupied residential buildings:

• ​Communal fire doors must be inspected quarterly.

• Flat entrance doors must be inspected at least annually.
